Michael Fascetta, clarinet, is an emerging soloist, ensemble performer, and chamber musician.

As a soloist, Michael has been a finalist in Concerto Competitions at both the University of Delaware (2023) and the Boston Conservatory (2025). He gave the world premiere of Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano by Robert Strauss in the spring of 2024, a piece commissioned by Mr. Fascetta. As a saxophonist, Michael performed with the UD Chorale, the premiere choral group at the University of Delaware, on Shawn Kirchner’s arrangement of Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming. He has performed solo works in masterclasses for YaoGuang Zhai, Michael Lowenstern, Andy Hudson, and others.

Michael has acted in principle and assistant principle roles during his time at both of his academic institutions. Highlights include performing at the 2022 WASBE Conference in Prague with the UD Wind Ensemble, the premier wind band group at University of Delaware, and principle clarinet with the UD Symphony Orchestra for their tour throughout Greece in the summer of 2024. He has also appeared in concert with the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey and Horizon Ensemble.

Michael is currently pursuing his M.M. in Clarinet Performance at the Boston Conservatory, studying under Jan Halloran. He previously was a Distinguished Music Scholar Award recipient at the University of Delaware where he studied under Dr. Christopher Nichols and Dr. Joanna McCoskey-Wiltshire.
